screen-fid® - RFID detection technology ready for use, not only for the screenprinting industry.
Between screen frames, squeegees, paint containers and order prevails, there is no longer silence thanks screen-fid®!
The Idea:
RFID transponders are attached as a data-storage to the most important elements of the printing process and transmit the data which are used for plant control, quality assurance, costing, etc.. At the core of the system is an intelligent transmission and response, housed in a tiny electronic media - called a transponder. Not unlike to the bar codes commonly used every day.
RFID transponders are not relying on optical detection. Rather, the contact is via the technique "radio-traffic Identification” technique, called RFID.
A big advantage:
The transponder can also be placed beneath the surface of the object, giving it the best protection against damage.
The RFID - Components used are "passive" , so there is no “form of power in or on them”. Using these smaller, passive transponders makes the whole system inexpensive, and usable, even in sensitive electronic environments.

The Components
RFID transponders,also called tags:
These electronic components are available as adhesive labels, or as “chip's” and can be fixed on all components, such as screen frames, squeegees, paint containers, emulsion dosing , job/ running cards, etc. Because of the special parameters in screen -printing, fixing the tags to the screen-frame`s and squeegee´s need special requirements. Therefore, the attachment is mechanically protected and solvent-resistant.
Especially important is the clearance given to the screen-fid® tags for zone 0, in the frame –cleaning and squeegee-washing units

Mobile read/write units:
These are available as a simple "data – gatherer ", for example, as a Bluetooth read/write unit with a storage capability of up to 200 characters per tags, or as a read-write device, a so – called Handheld, with the possibility to view the data and to change it while under way

Stationary reading units:
These devices can be attached to nearly every type of machinery to evaluate the data from the tag`s.
The direct control of the machine is possible (for example: selection of a washing program in a frame-washing unit, activation of a UV dryer, etc.) but also the process of collecting the data which is stored on the tag (for example: the beginning and end of the washing process, pressure duration of specific programs, etc.)

Industrial read/write units
The industry-Reader supports the use in harsh environments. For applications such as industrial automation, production control, tool management, tracking, or general product
marking, these readers are ideal.

screen-fid® Software:
Specially developed software for the printing industry to read out the tag`s without any difficulties, and change the RFID transponder data without problems
The required parameters for the transponders are freely configurable and allow a high degree of standardization. Processed data can be easily imported into other software systems and be reused.

screen-fid® WorkFlow Appliance:
The combined software and hardware solution collects all the data during the production process, accumulates and stores them for the future use / evaluation.

The benefits:
The combination of the componants help to make the screen printing process repeatable and more transparent. To help the tractability and take the possibility of human error out of a process. Through the use of screen-fid® you are given the opportunity to combine various elements of a process and optimize this for the best end product.
Deposit/storage of the basic data/parameters on the components:
(example dimensions, fabric type, voltage, clamping date, etc.) in screen frames
(example color type, expiration date, required UV dryer performance) on paint containers
(example size, shore hardness, production date) on squeegee blades
Deposit of variable data on the components:
(example, tensioning date, number of washes, thickness, etc.) in screen frames
(example, turnover, consumption, etc.) on paint containers
(example number of grinds, number of prints, etc.) on squeegee blades
Control of equipment for screen printing process, as well as pre and post press
(example, selecting the program of washing and cleaning / de-coating)
(example selection of machine parameters such as squeegee speed) on the machine
(example, selecting the best grinding program) with blade grinders
(example automatic adjustment of UV dryers based on the information of the printing stencil, colour, type, of the squeegee and the substrate)
